OUR GOAL IS SAFE AND RELIABLE OPERATION OF NUCLEAR ENERGY AND ITS CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT
One of the goals of the Public Union “ENERGY SAFETY INSTITUTE” is to promote the development of nuclear energy and nuclear industrial complex of Ukraine in full compliance with modern nuclear and radiation safety standards. Over the past two years, the Union has been monitoring and participating in all important events related to the safe operation and development of nuclear energy in Ukraine - conferences, discussions, and debates.
The members of the Union took part in the International Conference “Prospects for the Introduction of Innovations in Nuclear Energy”, the International Scientific and Technical Conference of Young Scientists and Specialists “Problems of Modern Nuclear Energy”, and regularly participates in INUDECO events.
For the same purpose, the Union’s activities include the provision of services, including information services, consultations, social surveys, and trainings. Our members study and participate in the implementation of international experience in the functioning and development of nuclear energy and the nuclear industry.
Currently, the ENERGY SAFETY INSTITUTE is preparing a public opinion poll to monitor the attitude of residents of the Khmelnytskyi NPP and Rivne NPP observation zones to nuclear and hydrogen energy. The purpose of the survey is to determine how much people know about these two technologies and their potential combination. The survey will be conducted this summer.
A separate area of our activity is to inform the public about safe operation and the need to build new NPPs using Western technologies and work with young people to popularize the nuclear profession. Last year, ENERGY SAFETY GROUP with the assistance of the Union financed the printing of the booklet “Atomic Alphabet” for preschoolers and primary school students. For several years in a row, ENERGY SAFETY GROUP has been a partner of the essay competition for high school students, participating in the jury and co-financing the competition.
In addition, the Union analyzes the media field on the development of nuclear energy in Ukraine and the world. As well as existing key issues. It should be noted that our members regularly take relevant training courses, including the countering disinformation course from the American National Laboratory Oak Ridge.
