THE PUBLIC UNION «ENERGY SAFETY INSTITUTE» AND WIN UKRAINE HAVE SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION
The Public Union «Energy Safety Institute» and the non-governmental organisation Women in Nuclear Ukraine (WiN Ukraine) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, formalising their intention to develop joint professional, educational and awareness-raising initiatives in the field of nuclear energy.
The cooperation will encompass the exchange of professional expertise, the organisation of conferences, discussions, lectures, training courses and other industry events, work with young professionals and students, as well as support for initiatives aimed at professional development and increasing women’s participation in the nuclear sector.
A separate area of focus will be joint work on projects addressing the challenges facing Ukraine’s nuclear energy sector as a result of the full-scale war. Ukraine has gained unique and complex experience of operating the nuclear sector under conditions of the occupation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, military threats to civilian nuclear facilities and energy infrastructure, prolonged strain on staff, and the need to maintain nuclear and radiation safety in circumstances for which no ready-made practical solutions previously existed.
The Energy Safety Institute and WiN Ukraine plan to work together to reflect on and professionally present this experience, in particular through analytical, informational and educational projects, professional discussions and international communication.

The collaboration between the Public Union «Energy Safety Institute» and WiN Ukraine will combine technical and sectoral expertise with work on human capacity development, professional education and communication. The parties also plan to involve representatives of the Ukrainian and international nuclear community, educational and scientific institutions, and other relevant organisations in joint initiatives.
The signing of the Memorandum sets out a framework for further systematic cooperation and the implementation of joint projects between the Energy Safety Institute and WiN Ukraine, both in Ukraine and at an international professional level.
