WE FOSTER INTEREST IN THE NUCLEAR INDUSTRY AMONG SCHOOLCHILDREN AND STUDENTS

Last year, Ukraine announced the construction of nine AP1000 power units based on the Westinghouse technology, up to 20 power units with small modular reactors based on Holtec International technology, and is considering other SMR technologies. As such, the need for specialists will grow from year to year.

That is why, participation in the training of personnel for nuclear energy is one of the priority areas of the Public Union “ENERGY SAFETY INSTITUTE”.

With the lead of the Public Organization “Ukrainian Nuclear Society” (UkrNS), a large number of educational projects aimed at schoolchildren and students are being implemented in the industry, which are constantly supported by our members as partners and jury members.

Energy Safety Group, a member of the Union, is a regular partner of the essay contests held annually by UkrNS for high school students. Last year, it partnered in the Atomic Innovators Competition of scientific projects in the field of nuclear science, nuclear power and industry, which was held for the first time. The support of the competitions will continue this year.

Last year Energy Safety Group, with the assistance of the Union, financed the printing of the Atomic Alphabet booklet for children. We hope that such a publication will form an interest in the nuclear industry among young people from the earliest years, and in the future will influence their choice of the nuclear profession.
